Doctoral Consortium at IFSAM VIIIth World Congress 2006
hosted by VHB in Berlin, Germany, September 27th 2006

The art of publishing in international academic journals

Why this doctoral consortium?
Getting published in international management journals is increasingly becoming a key factor for successful academic careers. Especially young researchers often have many questions about publishing in international journals: How do I get into international journals? What is the difference between publishing in national and international journals? Are there typical steps leading to a successful international publication? Is a specific style of writing required? How do I read a reviewer’s comments correctly? The IFSAM doctoral consortium as part of the IFSAM VIIIth World Congress 2006 addresses these and related questions.

What are the goals?
The IFSAM doctoral consortium 2006 has two major goals:

  • First, helping participants to better disseminate their research in international peer-reviewed academic journals
  • Second, enabling participants to build peer-networks with academic colleagues in similar stages of their academic careers for mutual support in getting published

Who should attend?
Young researchers with little or no experience in publishing internationally interested in increasing the number and quality of their international publications. Working on a PhD-thesis or in a concrete research project is required. Ideally, participants of the workshop also participate in the World Congress to deepen their understanding of the field and establish professional networks (for more information and registration click here).

What is the format and content?
This is a one-day interactive workshop. Therefore, the maximum number of participants is 15.
